![]() ![]() Perhaps one of the most useful features (aside from Dark Mode) in MacOS Mojave is the new screenshot feature (simply press Shift + Command + 5) which brings a new user interface that’s dedicated to screenshots, after entering the new screenshot feature there are a number of new options, from here you can capture entire screen, capture selected window, capture selected portion, record the entire screen or record selected portion. Users can simply take one click actions to trim videos, create PDFs, or rotate images. ![]() ![]() These are shortcuts that allow users to quickly take action on files directly from the Finder interface. Think Quick Look but more visually appealing and more useful.Īnother Finder upgrade is Quick Actions. The great thing about MacOS Mojave is the finder now gets three new updates, it starts with a brand new Gallery View that allows you to see big previews for your files. With Stacks everything is kept nice and tidy but also available for you at any time. If you have stacks enabled, any new item that’s added to your desktop will automatically add to it’s corresponding stack, such as adding a new screen shot will take it straight to the screenshot stack. You can scroll through the stacks to find a particular item or even expand a stack just by clicking on it. Stacks is purely designed with desktop organisation in mind, it allows you to group multiple desktop items by kind, date, or tags. Yes if you have Dark Mode turned on it will remain in Dark Mode and only the desktop picture will change (desert at night, desert in the day), it’s a nice little addition to the Dark Mode and makes the Mac look great.Īre you that person who struggles to keep a tidy desktop? don’t worry most of us are, luckily Stacks is now here to help and it’s more useful than you may think. Working alongside Dark Mode, dynamic desktop is an extra step that time shifts your desktop wallpaper based on the time of day. It’s a feature that looks great on the Mac (yes even on my 2012 iMac). Not only do first party apps (such as Pages, Sari, messages and so on) support Dark Mode but third party developers can incorporate support as well. Benefits of Dark Mode go past pure aesthetics, the darker interfacer is easier on the eyes when working in dimly lit rooms. This is a flagship feature that many people will be happy with, in fact many people clapped at the WWDC keynote when dark mode was announced.
